Tour Calendar 2021
We do mainly offer individual tour programs in Belarus and in Ukraine.
However, it is possible to include your own, individual tour in our tour calendar as a group tour. Write to us for the options at firstname.lastname@example.org
9-18 september, 10-day group tour ‘Space & More’ to Ukraine led by specialist of Soviet Space history Jakob Terweij. 4-14 participants, cost €1.535 per person with a discount at six or more participants. Cancellation free of cost up to one week before departure because of the covid-situation.
The tour program (see below) is similar to our individual program ‘USSR Tour in Central Ukraine’. But with more focus on Space and other Soviet technology, and less so on industry.
Thursday September 9
Arrival in Kyiv, transfer to hotel Ukraina in central Kyiv. Hotel Ukraina is situated on high side of the famous Maidan Square where in 2014 the Revolution of Dignity took place.
Depending upon your time of arrival, leisure time. (For example, direct KLM flight from Amsterdam arrives at 00:20 AM on September 3; those willing to arrive one day earlier and enjoy a free day in Kyiv can choose to do so and request).
Friday, September 10
Full-day guided excursion to Chornobyl, taking into account all safety precautions. You will visit an impressive old Soviet radar installation close to Chornobyl as well. It’s a two hour drive from Kyiv. Lunch is included today.
Return to the city in the early evening and accommodation in hotel Ukraine.
Saturday, September 11
Full-day guided excursion to the museum dedicated to Sergey Korolev, chief engineer of the Soviet Rocket and Space program in the late 1950s till 1966, in his hometown of Zhytomyr at 140 kms from Kyiv.
Return to Kyiv in the early evening and accommodation in hotel Ukraine.
Sunday, September 12
Leisure time in the morning.
In the afternoon visit to the Aviation museum in Kyiv.
Transfer to the railway station to catch the 17:35 PM train to Dnipro. Arrival at 23:44 PM and transfer to the Reikhartz hotel and accommodation.
Monday, September 13
The city of Dnipro is situated in an industrial region and its wealth is shown in the many new and interesting buildings along the Dnipro river including an attractive boulevard. You will first enjoy a city excursion.
After lunch a visit to the Rocket Institute is on the program, where an enthusiastic former employee (engineer) will inform you in detail about the displayed rockets, and much more.
Accommodation in the Reikhartz hotel.
Tuesday, September 14
In the morning you will be guided around Monastry Island in the Dnipro river.
After lunch you will be transferred by minibus in two hours to the city of Zaporizhzhia (‘Zapo’), which is also situated along the same Dnipro river.
Upon arrival you will have leisure time and accommodation in the Intourist hotel.
Wednesday, September 15
Two things stand out and cannot be missed in Zapo. First of the enormous dam in the Dnipro river (the guide will tell you about its dramatic history) and secondly, right behind the dam, Khortytsha island. You will be guided in the historic fortress on the island.
After lunch a visit to the unusual and wonderful Soviet Technology museum is included, showing retro technology in all fields including many cars, also ancient Western models.

Thursday, September 16
After breakfast transfer to the airport for the 12:30 PM flight back to Kyiv, arrival 14 PM. In Kyiv transfer to the Ukraina hotel and leisure time.
Friday, September 17
Full-day guided excursion to the Strategic Missile Museum in Permovaisk. It’s a 300 km drive – along excellent roads – but despite that very much worthwhile. This is the only former missile site open to the public and it shows how the Soviets were prepared to nuke Europe if needed… Similar sites in Russia are still operating.
Upon return in Kyiv about 19 PM, accommodation in hotel Ukraina.
Saturday, September 18
Transfer to the airport, depending upon your flight time, and of the tour.
We can offer this program at €1,535 per person. The minimum number of participants is 4, the maximum is 14. First booked is first in!
There will be a discount for everyone under these conditions: €100 from 6 participants, €200 from 8 participants and €300 from 10 participants.

Special covid conditions
At the time of writing (16.07.2021) the situation with covid-19 in Ukraine is reasonably under control and there is no lockdown. This may change however. Therefore every participant has the right to cancel the tour up to August 25nd without any cost. For cancellations after August 25th a fee of €200 per person will be charged, ex. cost for purchased tickets.
At the same time the organizer – Belarus & Ukraine Tours – has to right to cancel the tour till August 25nd as well when he judges that the covid situation in Ukraine is not safe enough.
